Jan Luyken Amsterdam is looking for a passionate House Host Trainee to join the team.
Jan Luyken is owned and operated by the Zien Group. In 2022, The Zien Group was created as a result of the partnership between the Dijkstra family, renowned founders of Eden Hotels, and KSL Capital Partners, a prominent private equity group specialising in travel and leisure. With a current portfolio of 12 hotels, Zien Group is dedicated to reimagining select properties within its portfolio to unlock their full potential. Additionally, Zien Group actively seeks new acquisitions and development opportunities throughout Europe and the UK, aiming to expand its presence in the next few years.
Our House Host Intern plays a pivotal role in delivering Jan Luyken's hospitality and guest experience. At Jan Luyken, we have reimagined the stay, crafting an ambiance that reflects the warmth and comfort of a friend's home. You will join a small, creative, and close-knit team in bringing this brand to life. This role is perfect for you if you are a natural people person - warm, open, and welcoming. Your passion for Amsterdam and its culture shines through as you engage with guests. As a trainee, you will be assigned to a wide range of tasks, so you get the opportunity to learn as much as possible. You will, of course, be coached throughout your internship.
Overall, the House Host Intern will:
- Support the rest of the team in ensuring our townhouse runs smoothly from an operational perspective.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guests, offering guests information for a comfortable stay. From local recommendations to directions and restaurant bookings, you make sure their needs are met.
- Support and collaborate closely with fellow hosts to enhance the guest experience.
- Attend to guests' needs and provide help and support whenever required, going the extra mile to ensure their satisfaction and comfort.
- Take ownership of presenting our townhouse in its best light, maintaining the approved appearance and standards.
- Bring the unique hospitality and culture of our brand to life, ensuring that every interaction reflects the experience of staying at a close friend's home.
- Go above and beyond to make guests feel at ease and truly at home during their stay.
- Check in with guests, seeking their valuable feedback to improve our services.
Job requirements
We’re looking for someone who:
- You are easy to get along with and have a friendly, hospitable attitude.
- You can deal with stress and always work detailed.
- You are flexible.
- You enjoy working in a team but can also work independently.
- You are following a relevant MBO (Vocational study) training level 1-4 or HBO (Bachelor)
- You are fluent in English. Other European language is a plus
- Alternating shifts are great for you.
- You are available to do internship for 5-6 months
- You are looking for an internship for the period of July, August and September. (Applying for a different period is also possible)
