Jan Luyken is a townhouse in the heart of Amsterdam, where the Museum Quarter meets the city's most elegant shopping street. At Jan Luyken, we offer guests more than just a hotel room. As the House Host Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering this unique hospitality experience. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of guest services and property management, ensuring that every guest feels welcomed, comfortable, and cared for during their stay. You will lead a small, creative, and close-knit team, fostering an environment that reflects the warmth and familiarity of a home away from home.

Job requirements

As a House Host Manager, your role will involve:

  • Guest Experience Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for guests, ensuring their needs are met with warmth and efficiency. From offering local recommendations to assisting with restaurant bookings and directions, you will make each guest’s stay memorable and seamless.
  • Team Management: Lead, support, and collaborate closely with the team of hosts to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Provide coaching and guidance to help them deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Property Presentation: Take ownership of maintaining the townhouse’s appearance and ambiance, ensuring it meets the brand’s standards and feels like a welcoming home for every guest.
  • Guest Relations: Regularly check in with guests to gather feedback and make continuous improvements to our services. Go above and beyond to make guests feel at ease and truly at home during their stay.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure all operational aspects of the townhouse run smoothly, from managing bookings and Food & Beverages to coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance teams.
  • Brand Ambassador: Embody and bring to life Jan Luyken’s unique hospitality and culture in every interaction, ensuring that the guest experience is consistent with our brand’s vision.

Who are you?

  • You are a natural people person with a warm, open, and welcoming personality.
  • You possess excellent communication skills and fluent in English. Basic knowledge of one of the languages: Dutch, French, German, or Spanish is a plus.
  • You are passionate about Amsterdam and enthusiastic about sharing the city’s culture with guests.
  • You have a knack for teamwork but can also work independently when needed.
  • You are flexible, proactive, and eager to take the initiative in enhancing guest experiences.
  • You have experience in hospitality management or a related field, with strong knowledge of guest services and property management.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • You reside in the Amsterdam area and are familiar with the local culture and attractions.
