House Host - Jan Luyken

  • Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

About the job

Jan Luyken is a townhouse in the heart of Amsterdam, where the Museum Quarter meets the city's most elegant shopping street. At Jan Luyken, we offer guests more than just a hotel room. We invite guests to enjoy our spaces as if they were their own, and everything guests need for a comfortable stay is included.

House Hosts play a pivotal role in delivering Jan Luyken's hospitality and guest experience. At Jan Luyken, we have reimagined the standard stay experience, crafting an environment and ambiance that mirrors the familiarity, comfort, and hospitality found in the home of a close friend. You will be joining a small, creative, and close-knit team in bringing this brand to life.

This role is perfect for you if you are a natural people person - warm, open, and welcoming. You love to converse with people and are enthusiastic about the city of Amsterdam and all the culture it has to offer. As a trainee, you will be assigned to a wide range of tasks so you get the opportunity to learn as much as possible. You will, of course, be coached throughout your internship.

As a House Host Trainee, your role will involve:

  • Supporting the rest of the team in ensuring our townhouse runs smoothly from an operational perspective.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for guests, offering guests information for a comfortable stay. From local recommendations to directions and restaurant bookings, you make sure their needs are met.
  • Supporting and collaborating closely with fellow hosts to enhance the guest experience.
  • Attending to guests' needs and providing help and support whenever required, going the extra mile to ensure their satisfaction and comfort.
  • Taking ownership of presenting our townhouse in its best light, maintaining the approved appearance and standards.
  • Bringing to life the unique hospitality and culture of our brand, ensuring that every interaction reflects the experience of staying at a close friend's home.
  • Going above and beyond to make guests feel at ease and truly at home during their stay.
  • Checking in with guests, seeking their valuable feedback to improve our services.
