Jan Luyken Amsterdam is looking for a dedicated House Host to join the team.

Jan Luyken is owned and operated by the Zien Group. In 2022, The Zien Group was created as a result of the partnership between the Dijkstra family, renowned founders of Eden Hotels, and KSL Capital Partners, a prominent private equity group specialising in travel and leisure. With a current portfolio of 12 hotels, Zien Group is dedicated to reimagining select properties within its portfolio to unlock their full potential. Our House Host plays a pivotal role in delivering Jan Luyken's hospitality and guest experience. At Jan Luyken, we have reimagined the standard stay experience, crafting an environment and ambiance that mirrors the familiarity, comfort, and hospitality found in the home of a close friend. You will be joining a small, creative, and close-knit team in bringing this brand to life. This role is perfect for you if you are a natural people person. You are warm, open, and welcoming. You love to converse with people and are enthusiastic about the city of Amsterdam and all the culture it has to offer.

What will you be doing?

Your shift starts around 23:00. No problem for you, because you are so flexible. During the night, you help guests check in and out and answer any questions they may have. You see to it that the safety of the building is guaranteed and signal if anything goes wrong. After nightly reports, you prepare breakfast and make sure the public areas look tiptop. At 7:00 am, your shift ends and you go home feeling satisfied.

Overall, the Night Host will:

  • Ensure our townhouse runs smoothly from an operational perspective.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for guests, offering guests information for a comfortable stay. From local recommendations to directions and restaurant bookings, you ensure their needs are met.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow Hosts to enhance the guest experience.
  • Attend to guests' needs and provide help and support whenever required, go the extra mile to ensure their satisfaction and comfort.
  • Take ownership of presenting our townhouse in its best light, maintaining the approved appearance and standards.
  • Bring the unique hospitality and culture of our brand to life, ensuring that every interaction reflects the experience of staying at a close friend's home
  • Go above and beyond to make guests feel at ease and truly at home during their stay.
  • Check in with guests, seeking their valuable feedback to improve our services.

Job requirements

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is positive, enthusiastic, and proactive.
  • Is a team player, but can work independently too when required.
  • Puts the needs of our guests first.
  • Possess prior experience as a hotel receptionist, coupled with a strong background in food and beverage operations within a restaurant or bar setting.
  • Has experience with Mews software (preferred, but not a must).
  • Speaks fluent English. Dutch language is a plus.
  • You live in the Amsterdam Area
