Do you enjoy working with your colleagues to make sure the breakfast buffet is well stocked, lunch is beautifully presented, and our guests can enjoy delicious dishes in the evening? What will you be doing?

In our kitchen, no two days are the same, and that's what makes your job so exciting! Together with the chef, you'll go through the latest dishes on the menu. Then you carefully prepare the mise en place so that you and your colleagues can start lunch or dinner well-prepared. You eagerly prepare dishes that are beautifully presented. You talk to some satisfied guests, and at the end of the day you already have ideas on how to make certain dishes even tastier or present them differently. Together with the Head Chef you will take part on sourcing and choosing local products and build structure of the team at the kitchen to ensure work efficiency.

The Babylon Hotel The Hague, an icon at The Hague Central Station since 1978 and part of Eden Hotels. Centrally located, with a fantastic view and of course with all the famous attractions within easy reach. The hotel has 143 rooms and several special meeting rooms. On the first floor of the hotel you will find our bar and restaurant "The Livingroom", where we give our guests a real feeling of home.

Job requirements

Who are you?

  • You are flexible: no day is like the other. You're ready for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • You are creative: You bring your own new ideas for our breakfast buffet and new menus.

  • You are representative, hospitable and enthusiastic appearance and attitude.

  • You are a real team player and can improvise well.

  • You have completed a cooking education (at least MBO level 3) or a similar experience.

  • You have experience in a similar position.

  • You are keen on doing some administrative tasks

  • You have demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques.

  • You have knowledge of products/ingredients and menu composition.

  • You have knowledge of HACCP regulations and are familiar with safety regulations.

  • You have good communication skills.

  • Knowledge in MS Office suit is an advantage.

  • An experienced working in a hotel as a cook or junior sous chef is required for this role

  • You live in the region of The Hague.
